Hilton Head Island
Hilton Head Island is one of the finest resort communities in the USA. Located on the Atlantic Ocean just north of Savannah GA, this beautiful boot-shaped island welcomes millions of tourists from around the globe each year. It is an excellent place to visit, and an even better place to live!
We enjoy great year round weather with temperatures ranging from 65 - 75 degrees during the spring and fall seasons. Summer can bring temperatures into the 90's. In winter the temperatures can dip into the 30's, but generally January's coldest days are in the 50's and 60's. Perfect weather for biking, golfing, playing tennis, and many other outdoor activities.
There are over 30 championship golf courses on Hilton Head. Since the first golf course opened in Sea Pines in 1961, golf has become a major draw. Harbour Town Golf Links in Sea Pines is home of the Verizon Heritage Golf Classic, a major PGA Tournament which has been host to the greatest names in golf, such as Phil Mickelson, Ernie Els, Davis Love, Colin Montgomerie and Bernard Langer.
All of the beaches are public, but beach access is often private. The town provides access to the following five beaches that also offer restrooms, changing areas and sand showers: Lane Beach, off South Forest Beach Drive; Coligny Beach Park, off Coligny Circle; Driessen Beach Park, at the end of Bradley Beach Road; Folly Field Beach Park, off Folly Field Road; and Islanders Beach Park off Folly Field Road. Many of the beaches have metered spaces for parking.
